The Global Public Safety Operations Conference 2025 (GPSOCSyd2025) has officially commenced in Sydney, bringing together delegates from 17 nations for three days of high-level discussions on the evolution of public safety communications and mission-critical connectivity.
The event was formally opened by The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, Acting NSW Minister for Customer Service & Digital Government and Minister for Emergency Services, alongside Kylie De Courteney, Managing Director of Telco Authority. Their opening remarks set a collaborative and forward-looking tone for the conference, emphasizing the urgent global need to strengthen public safety networks.
In her address, Ms. De Courteney highlighted Australia’s leadership in the sector and underscored the importance of securing dedicated spectrum for public safety use.
“Every minute we delay is a minute our first responders remain at risk,” she said. “We cannot wait for the next disaster to act. Our emergency services need mission-critical broadband that works—everywhere, every time.”
Hosted by the NSW Telco Authority, GPSOCSyd2025 serves as a global platform for nations to share experiences, align strategies, and accelerate progress toward resilient, interoperable communication systems.
The goal is clear: to deliver the connectivity first responders need to protect communities and critical infrastructure—no matter the challenge.
