A California-based startup, Ataya, specializing in private 5G technology, has selected fellow Californian company MosoLabs as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for its Chorus line of indoor and outdoor private 5G radio access points. The Chorus product is positioned as a "zero touch" and plug-and-play standalone 5G radio-access network unit, boasting an integrated 5G core network, making it appealing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) globally. Ataya aims to offer a more cost-effective alternative to the established private 5G offerings from companies like Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung, promising simpler deployments akin to setting up a Wi-Fi node, but with the enhanced benefits of 5G technology such as improved latency, coverage, security, and reliability.

Launched in January, the Chorus product integrates with Ataya's Harmony industrial connectivity platform, which is distributed in the US, Europe, and Asia through system integrators and channel resellers like ADLINK, Wave-in Communications, Quanta Computer, Accuver Group, and Opticoms. Ataya emphasizes that the Chorus access points streamline the deployment process, particularly for small to medium-sized installations such as outdoor parking lots, gas stations, retail kiosks, and smart farms, by eliminating complexities, additional hardware, and high costs typically associated with private 5G deployments. Additionally, the Chorus solution enables IT/OT teams to efficiently manage and monitor deployments remotely.

The partnership between Ataya and MosoLabs is hailed as a significant advancement for private 5G, with both companies aiming to simplify integration, deployment, and management of private networks. MosoLabs echoes Ataya's vision, emphasizing the Chorus access point's potential to revolutionize the private 5G landscape by offering a straightforward yet powerful solution.
